The club has two stretches of water on the Upper Thames
The Main Water
Our main water is accessed via Marsh Lane Clanfield. The lane has recently been re laid making access to the river here much easier, please observe our 20 mph speed limit as the club has paid a substantial amount of money towards the up keep. We have 94 pegs here and for most of the season, weather permitting you can drive to your peg.
Roach, Chub, Dace and Perch are the main species found here with the odd Bream showing on occasions. Over the past two years we have worked closely with the Enviroment Agency on how to improve the fishing, this has resulted in a stocking of one thousand of each roach chub and dace in November 2014 and now with their support we have a stock pond which they will help us manage and will allow annual stocking of Roach and Tench.
Last season two big Barbel were caught one of 8lb 60z and a superb 9lb 10oz. More pleasing was the 12 fish between 6oz and 2lb that showed up in club matches.
In June 2014 we accuired the fishing rights on the north bank (opposite Trout Inn) 3 fields down stream of Tadpole Bridge.
This stretch only offers 16 pegs due to power cables crossing the river for you own safety do not fish between warning signs! The expectations of many of the senior members were met when the season started nets of roach chub and dace to 15lb were taken.
Parking is limited to the layby on the north bank so please park sensibly, do not park in front of gates.
Regular opens are held on this stretch if you wish to fish please book in with Dougie Foreshew 07825 874779
